On my first day on the Squarespace in-house campaigns team, I was tasked with the totally-chill, super-low-stakes, no-pressure-at-all task of creating a film to unveil the most immaculate brand refresh of 2018.

Years in the making, the new brand identity was a triumph for countless talented designers and creatives across the company. The only way introduce the work and do it justice, while capturing the left-of-center space this special company sought to occupy was to take myself – and our audience – on a crash course into what the Squarespace brand meant to those who created it.

Influenced by irregular rhythms of neighboring West Village jazz clubs and the beautiful simplicity of the new kinetic design system, I took zippy keywords and statements from interviews from the creative team behind the work, weaving them into an animated journey that highlighted the new look, democratized brand ethos, and the passion for design that is uniquely Squarespace.
